I've corrected both maps, "Omaha Beach" and "Dead man's Corner". Unfortunately, a minefield on "Omaha Beach" Map was incorrectly configured, sorry for that. On "Dead man's Corner" I had to add minefields to all allied spawn zones - even though I'm not a fan of them. As mentioned, I'm absolutely not a fan of minefields, especially not for protecting spawn zones. First, it's extra work that wastes my time (unnecessarily); second, these minefields are another potential source of errors on the map; and third, each additional minefield requires game resources. Unfortunately, there are players on the server who don't understand, or don't want to understand, the difference between an "open" map and a "normal" map.
  • "Open" maps (usually "fun maps") don't really have any rules; spawn zones are generally unprotected, you can run around like Roger Rabbit and shoot your gun until the barrel glows, throw grenades, blow yourself up.. if you like, deliver pizzas... whatever..
  • "Normal" maps usually have spawn protection; for the sake of fair play, you shouldn't kill players in the spawn area or just run around like a madman mashing the fire button. Normal maps are "team play maps," usually have a tactical component, and require a minimum of strategic thinking. I actually assumed that players on our server mostly were aware of this, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case...
Anyway, I hope both maps are working correctly now. Oh, and I'd also be interested in your opinions on the topic of "fair play", any constructive feedback / discussion to this matter is very welcome...
